When I'm on my travels, I sometimes blog
On Thursday, November 13, Keef and I found a train to take us to Kamakura. This is nowadays a small town known for its more than 50 temples, but was (in practice) the capital of Japan from 1185 to 1333. We had a small mishap when our train veered off the route we thought it would take, and we had to get off and backtrack one station. Keef got his caffeine fix in the "wrong" station, so when we finally got to Kamakura we were strengthened to take on the steps of the majestic main temple - the Tsurugaoka Hachimangū.
After this, it was time for some lunch. We found a Chinese restaurant with a good selection of mixed delicacies on a large tray. We took a cute, small train to Hase, where we saw the magnificent Hasedera temple and garden. Time had flown as had our energy, so we skipped the giant Buddha and the other 48 temples and shrines. An hour on the train and we were safely back in Ikebukuro in time for dinner.
Be well, guys!
