100-page cloth cover hardback collection of photographs by the Yorkshire photographer Bridget Gill 21.0 x 21.0 x 0.7 cm - September 06 2024 £17.50 + post
“We chose the title 'Unseen' because she seems to zone in on those small details of ordinary life that we often miss.
For example, the photo of the people at the lakeside features a man with an electronic security tag on his ankle. And the girl in front of the nude statue is holding a ruler in her hand.
She is a very 'non-technical' photographer, and in some ways I think this helps. She concentrates very much on what is in front of the camera rather than what is inside the camera.”
John Gill
I wish to present the book of Bridget, a wife who, in many ways, walks alongside her husband John, a passionate documentary photographer from Yorkshire.
Her journey isn't just about imitation but about actively engaging in the craft.
It might be interesting to explore the similarities and differences between them.
They've even collaborated on a book and organised several exhibitions, which demonstrates their shared dedication and creativity.
