New World – In 2022, China recorded its lowest birth rate on record. The economic impact of COVID-19 has left many would-be parents worried about the future. After the pandemic ended, my son was born. As a photographer, I documented his first month in this world. He must not know what has happened in this world, let alone what kind of new world he will face.

Where They Once Called Home – "I was born there," said the lady from Palermo, pointing to a corner of the living room. While renting a vacation apartment in Berlin to explore Sicily, I quickly realised the space was filled with stories. Her words inspired me to capture fragments of daily life, reflecting the history of a place where people had lived and shared meals. This photo essay, created in July 2024 in Palermo, explores the blend of foreign and familiar memories shaped by temporary inhabitation.
