In memory of Anna Biret who passed away on 23.12.25.

She was born in Soviet Poland, developing a passion for spatial perception and geometric architecture patterns. After graduating in architecture, she moved to Paris and lived there until her death.

In November 2018, she discovered street photography at a Maciej Dakowicz workshop in Myanmar, which led to workshops and expeditions from Bolivia to India. Her photography captures the people she encounters journey.
With her photography, she had touched our hearts - her work brimming with colours and a passion for life.

Our condolences go to her family and friends, especially her daughter, Ade, and her son, Lulek.

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of featuring Anna's work in our STREETS UNLEASHED series, and she shared insights into her approach to street photography.

Discovering a new city, she always went where the light would lead her. "Natural light is a very important element for me, beautiful light is already the motivation to take a photo", she said.
Anna embraced the beauty of everyday life by skillfully simplifying the chaotic mess of the streets to bring out, as she put it, "mystery and order".
In her photos, she conveyed a deep sense of empathy, compassion and respect for the people shown: " I like to go very close to people. I respect people, I don't want to attack them. I don't use flash, ever. My presence is accepted, why I don't know. I never put people in a situation."
Her masterful play with shadows and colour contrasts is proof of her outstanding talent, which has been recognised by countless awards and exhibitions. Still, she remained a generous, kind and open-hearted person.
Anna, the street photography community will miss you, but never forget you. We are grieving, but in our hearts, your inspiration will live on forever.
Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends, and her little companion, Bolita.
