When I'm on my travels, I sometimes blog
Mumbai
Hi!
Saturday Oct 17 was a strange day. I had been travelling since the evening of the 15th, with an overnight layover in Stockholm and a 7-hour wait in Copenhagen before boarding the 8-hour flight to Mumbai, India. I landed at 4:30 am local time and got about 6 hours of sleep in my hotel room. I slept until noon and felt kind of dizzy at first, but pretty refreshed after a little while.
I arranged to meet a friend from DeviantArt, Adam, who lives here, at 3 pm. @jaded.photographer
Adam took me to Marine Drive, a long seafront street on the west side of the city, along the Arabian Sea. After some chai from a kiosk, Adam led me to the eastern seafront: the Gateway of India, an old British memorial. Lots of Indian tourists there, and maybe one or two others.
I had read up a little and knew about Sassoon Docks, a fishing pier and harbour with lots of colourful boats. And not further than a 1km walk or so. Adam led the way as usual. Of course it was quite hot, maybe +32C and very humid. But it still worked well enough. My jet lag kicked in quite soon, though. By 6 pm, I asked Adam to help me find a cab back to the hotel. During the cab ride, we made plans to meet again the same time the next day.
Be well, everybody!
