Hi!
On Monday October 19 I was on my own again. Adam had other stuff to do.
I started the day by going back to the Sassoon docks in the morning. The guidebooks say that's when it gets really active there. Maybe I got there too late (about 9), but it was much slower than on the previous visit in the afternoon. My stay wasn't that long and I walked north towards the Gateway of India. Another re-visit. Lots of Indian tourists yet again. I had started to think about lunch and my walk from the gate led me towards a café tip from dear Shubhodeep Roy. The Café Excelsior. The way there took me past a big courthouse with lawyers passing, perhaps also feeling a need for lunch. Also a University.
The glory of the Excelsior was definitely in the past but the food was good and cheap. After lunch I tried out the new Aqua Line (= line 3) of the Mumbai metro. Brand new, almost no people and well air conditioned. A true find! My guess is it was made by the Chinese. It looked almost exactly like the Beijing metro, just a different colour scheme. I also found out that it goes all the way out to the airport. Good to know for when it was time to travel to Kolkata.
Take care!
