Industrial landscapes
Thursday, November 20.
Keef had a wish to shoot some photos of industrial landscapes in Japan. He had done some research and found an area, Kawasaki. On my insistence, he did some more research and found a bus line which could take us the considerable distance from Kawasaki train station. It was a sunny day, nice and warmish. It would turn out that it wasn't entirely easy to get to the good vantage points though...
We started at an office tower with a free viewing platform, to get an overview of the area. Snapped a lot of photos there. Then we tried to walk to where we thought we might get some good views, along the waterfront. It turned out to be a along a heavily trafficked road, so we gave up after a while. It was just too dangerous. We went back to our original bus stop and got a bus instead. Just one stop took us further back towards the train station than we wanted to, but as it turns out we could get a pretty good view at the opposite side of that water we had been aiming for.
Keef wasn't happy yet, so we got on the bus again and went one more stop after seeing some nice stuff through the window. We found some more scenes to shoot on both sides of the main road. We walked along that road also and finally it would have to do and we caught yet another bus, this time back to Kawasaki train station.
Funnily enough, I got my best shot of the day after changing trains, to get back home to Ikebukuro.
Take care!
Niklas
