When I'm on my travels, I sometimes blog

Rome 5
On Sunday, Sep 7, I went to Porta Portese in Trastevere for the huge flea market, which is only there on Sundays.
The place was absolutely packed with people. At the northern entrance, it was only possible to move with the stream, no opportunity to choose direction... I was a bit worried about pickpockets, but I made it through the day OK. The situation invited shooting close-ups, extreme close-ups and nostril-filling the-frame close-ups. I'm not too fond of this last style, but I did quite a lot of the first two kinds of shots. After a while it opened up a bit as people walked left and right into stalls and I could get different types of photos as well. I went through the entire market in the increasing heat and had to take a break. Found a small fast food place with AC and sipped a large coke while I read my book. When I went back out it was 2pm and the market people were beginning to pack their stuff up. This gave me the chance for some interesting, more complex subject matter and since there was more space, for some interesting compositions as well. When the market area was pretty much empty I called it a day and found a bus back to the hotel.
Be well guys,
Niklas

When I'm on my travels, i sometimes blog here
I've always liked to travel and have taken a lot of photos when I do. Since 2010, I've travelled extensively and combined my longing to discover the world with a growing passion for street photography.
My old photo blog was written between 2013 and 18. Beware, it's in Swedish and has 776 episodes.
